Book Bazaar!

Book events always cause a little bit of nervousness for me, mostly because I'm a Pisces and my comfort zone is my little home surrounded by trees. Yesterday, I attended the Mid-Maine Book Bazaar in Fairfield, Maine and it was such a lovely time! The space was crammed full of authors, and I love looking at the different setups and displays. I especially love seeing authors in full costumes advertising their books! I'm pretty sure if I wore a "costume" to go along with my smut, I'd be escorted out! 

The comradery at these events is notably one of my favorite things. Listening to other authors encouraging each other and promoting each other is very special. I love hearing everyone's writing techniques and listening to their backgrounds. Some people write full-time; others write in addition to working another job. Some take years to write their manuscript, some are super crafty creating little mini books for their e-books, and some are bluntly obvious like me with my big SMUT sign! I do wish I had more crafty skills; perhaps I will learn to sew or make smutty greeting cards! 

IRIS was the belle of the ball at my table, selling out at her debut event! People were drawn to her cover (thank you Elizabeth MacKenney!!) and, as an erotic thriller, she appeals to a wider audience than my pineapple books. People like options! Next, I'll be working on LORETTA, so I'll have two erotic thrillers! 

My sweet husband spent the entire day with me at the Bazaar! I am forever grateful for his support! He loads the car with all my swag, he listens to me go on and on with my unwarranted concerns on the way there, and he helps me set up my tables. Yes, he knows there is Chinese in store for him after! 

My next event is the Kinky Craft Fair in Auburn, Maine on June 6th at Craft Brew Underground on Court Street! If you're looking for a super fun outing AND yummy drinks, come on out! See you there!
