Happy New Year!

I'm writing this New Year's post a bit late; I've been suffering from a lovely winter headcold that won't go away. It's my belief I am in desperate need of a trip to the Caribbean! My husband and I try to go to Jamaica as often as possible. Hurricane Melissa, (crazy lady!) hit our home-away-from-home pretty hard, sadly! The place we usually go to will be closed until spring. And as I age, I've noticed Maine winters get longer and longer and colder and colder each year. So, I've been sitting here with my headcold wishing I was knee deep in Jamaican waters, my toes sinking into the sand, my breath smelling of rum and coconut and pineapple... Alas, the furnace just kicked on again, stirring me from my blissful retreat...
Truth be told, I've also been suffering from writer's block. We've had an eventful last few months; I haven't written anything new since October. I have to be in the right headspace to write. Recently though, I've taken the time to look back on 2025 and recognize my accomplishments. I started my new website - www.mmwrites.com, I created a TikTok account and Linktree, as well as a new blog, which was something I've wanted to do for YEARS! In addition, I released three new books: RACHEL, in February, LONE MOUNTAIN in June, and IRIS in November. I think that's pretty good!
I also have three books I wrote over the summer which I'm editing, and three other books I'm still writing. Yes, there's a new ESHA book in the works! Sometimes, like when I have writer's block, it's easy to feel unaccomplished and edgy. But in reality, I think I'm doing okay! I look back to a few years ago when I published my first book, DEMON ESHA, and I'm in awe at how little I knew about the writing and publishing process. I made so many mistakes, did so many things the hard way! Oh! That reminds me! I also narrated and produced THREE audiobooks this year! The hardest undertaking thus far, but I did it! My entire Demon Esha Trilogy is now available on Audible!
I think I was pretty successful in my accomplishments in 2025. I even stepped out of my comfort zone and did a book event in my hometown! I'm grateful for the chances I've been given, I'm grateful for my fans, and I'm so excited to see what 2026 will bring! Or what I'll chase! 6 is my favorite number, after all!
