My Birthday! And anniversary, of sorts!

My Birthday! And anniversary, of sorts!

Today is my birthday! Usually, I don't give much weight to birthdays, but the last few years I've enjoyed mine and welcome the chance to start fresh. This morning the sun was shining as it rose above the trees, and it left such a delightful sparkle on the new blanket of snow that I had to grab my camera and take a picture. It felt magical somehow, serene and lovely. Just lovely. This next year, I want to take the time to appreciate the lovely moments.

My birthday is also an anniversary of sorts for me. Four years ago, I announced on social media that I had written a book. I told people it was erotica and most likely not for everyone, but there it was - I'd done it! A lifelong goal accomplished! This was an important moment for me because I had said I wasn't going to do that. I'd told myself I was writing under a pen name and would remain anonymous about my erotic romance books. But as I sat there that day, on my birthday, I couldn't NOT tell people! I had to. I knew my genre was probably going to irritate and flabbergast some folks, but it didn't matter because I was proud of myself! I can safely say I am happy I made that choice that day. I love writing! I love that I can write full time and put my energy into stories that I hope people will enjoy.

I'm excited to say that today, four years since that big announcement day for me, I am still plugging along! I have published five erotic romance books, three Maine-based psychological thrillers, and one erotic thriller! I enjoy going to book events where I can connect with readers and network with other authors. I enjoy writing my blogs, reviewing old works I wrote years ago, and of course, writing my stories! Things I don't enjoy quite so much would be editing and social media/marketing, but I'm trying! Good things will happen this year! This is the Year of the Horse, after all!

Look for my next psychological thriller, A GROCERY STORE CLERK, coming soon!!
